The HECKL Company was established in 2009 by fusion of Fontána P.M., BARD Moravia and Renko Rumburk Companies. Its business activities date back to 1993 when it, under the name of Fontána P.M., supplied materials for underground service installations. In 2004, after gaining the majority ownership interest in the Renko Rumburk, our Company extended its product range and began to manufacture and supply reinforcement fittings (spindles, lids, control keys, etc.) on both domestic and foreign markets. In 2006, we bought BARD Moravia; this way we acquired new outlets and warehouses in the Czech Republic.
Thanks to the fact that HECKL s.r.o. is itself a manufacturer, our Company is able to supply high-quality products for reasonable prices and meet its customers‘ specific requirements. More than 50% of our production is exported abroad.

We began (under the name of Fontána P.M.) by supplying materials for underground service installations. In 2004, after gaining the majority ownership interest in Renko Rumburk, our Company extended its product range and began to manufacture and supply reinforcement fittings (spindles, lids, control keys, etc.) on both local and foreign markets.
Production
The Company was established in Staré Křečany in 1996 and smoothly continued with its predecessors’s activities . In 2009, it became the production centre for the HECKL Company, which specialises in fixed and telescopic spindles and related products (cast-iron lids, operating keys, etc.) The range of products is compatible with all commonly used closing fixtures of both domestic and foreign producers. The company is also able to manufacture custom-made atypical spindles. Its products are characterised by up-to-date technical solutions, high-quality materials, accurate processing, reliability and an excellent price-to-value ratio. The company is present on both local and foreign markets. Its important business partners include domestic and foreign waterworks and business companies, as well as producers of fittings. In all its activities, it strives to fulfil its customers‘ requirements. It gives continuous effort to improving current products and developing new ones to fit its customers‘ needs and requirements.
HECKL Testing Facility
In addition to delivery of products within the framework of its production activities, the HECKL Company also provides services. What kinds of services? In particular, we utilise our exquisitely equipped testing facility to test our own products, but we would like to enable third parties to make use of it. Here we will explain what equipment we have and what kinds of tests we are able to carry out.
Liebisch S 1000MTR Salt-Spray Chamber
The fine salt fog is delivered in the chamber, condensing on the test samples, initiating corrosion and material ageing. There are two decks to cope with a large quantity of samples. Up to 100 kg of samples can be placed in the chamber, whose inner volume is 1,000 litres.
The tests of the corrosion endurance are carried out in compliance with our internal regulations and Czech and European Technical Standards (ČSN EN ISO 9227 – NSS, DIN EN ISO 6270-2, ASTM B 368, etc.).
In general, an exposure of 100 hours in the chamber corresponds to 10 years, and 1,000 hours to 50 years in the usual outdoor environment.
Q4 Tasman Spectrometer
This equipment can identify the composition of metallic alloys containing iron and copper and analyse cast articles made of such alloys. The evaluation software creates reports that can be printed and/or sent by e-mail.
DIO 1000 Ultrasound Defectoscope
This instrument detects mechanical failures in cast articles. It complies with the testing conditions provided by the ČSN EN 12 608-1 Standard.
Paint inspections
This equipment is used to test mechanical properties of paint layers:
• measuring paint layer thickness with a separate probe (our measurements are between 0 and 1,500 µm, but a larger range can be set)
• includes sets for carrying out chipping tests according to the ISO DIN 2409 Standard
• equipment to carry out „pull off tests“ according to the BS EN 24 624 and ISO 4624 Standards
• equipment for impact resistance tests according to the ASTM 2794 Standard to check the adhesion, brittleness and elasticity of paint layers – tests by falling weights
3D scanner
This equipment is used for checking geometrical dimensions. These measurements are taken along three axes, with an accuracy of at least 0.8 to 0.1 mm according to the DE VDI/VDE2634 Standard. The system makes use of two cameras on a position-setting stand and a rotating table with a load bearing capacity of 100 kg. Reverse-engineering software creates a 3D model from the collected data.
Torsion-measuring stand
This stand enables us to test the torsion stress of metal profiles and rods. We use this equipment to test gate valve sets.
Pressure-measuring stand
This stand is used to test the press load. In the HECKL Company, it is used to test cast-iron and plastic covers.
Capillary plastometer
This equipment measures the melt flow index (MFI). It is a standardised testing method based on measuring the quantity (weight or volume) of melted material going through the testing nozzle in 10 minutes under controlled conditions. The MFI value is determined for plastic materials.
UV chamber
In this chamber, samples are exposed to UV radiation to simulate aging. In general, 100 hours in the chamber corresponds to 10 years, and 1,000 hours to 50 years in the usual outdoor environment.
Memmerth heating and drying oven
This equipment tests endurance of samples with respect to heat. It makes it possible to expose the samples to high temperatures between 20 °C and 300 °C and/or carry out the so-called cyclic temperature tests.
Binder climatic chamber
This chamber enables us to carry out exact heating and cooling tests of industrial materials, as well as ageing and stress tests. Its temperature range is from -40 °C to +180 °C (without humidity), and from +10 °C to +95 °C (with humidity)
Rigaku handheld spectrometer
This instrument is based on Raman ResQ CQL. In a few minutes it will provide information about an unknown substance (with 1,200 substances in the library).
Sample melting press
It carries out a quick visual detection of unwanted admixtures in purchased or processed plastic re-granulated materials, fibres, chippings and other remainders from the production of plastics.
Aquatrac 3E
Water content measuring in polymeric materials and plastic granulates; possibly also samples taken from finished components.
